Hi guys wonder if you could help

my dads got a 05 1.8t sline avant just been tring to change the rear brake pads and we couldn't get the piston to go back in. Brought some pants tool from halfords shaped as a cube which was suppose to fit every car but we've had to mod it to fit. no matter how much we turn it's not pushing the piston back in.

Is there something else were meant to do

any help would be great

Hi...yes you need to push and turn the piston at the same time.........its a pig of a job unless you have the correct tool.....

You should take that cube tool back to halfords and swap it for a "Laser 1314" 'Brake Caliper Piston Rewind Tool'
which will allow you to do each piston in about 15 seconds......

I reckon Audi Main Stealers charge about £100 odd quid to replace the rear brakes......I know the rear pads cost £42 from Audi....even if you buy the Laser tool £20, and buy the pads...you are stil around £40 up if you do the job yourself !

thank you very much got the tool and did them with no trouble
