Heated tax dusc holder??

Hi
Sorry if this seems like me being a bit thick but my tax disc holder on my sline 56 plate looks to have some sort of element.I took the passenger side cover off to follow the wire round and it definitely is connected to something but dont know what. Is it ok to cut the wire?? Any info greatly appreciated

I think you will find it is an antenna for something, poss a car kit for a mobile. I don't think I would want to just cut it .....

DEFINATELY a mobile phone antenna !!!!! Fitted god knows how many over the years. Almost gaurantee it had a Nokia CAR-K91 car kit - the car has got to have been a company car at some point !!!!

Thanks for the replies. Can I relocate it behind the side panel? ( can the wire be cut and re-joined and will I still be able to get a signal? The disk has lost its stickiness so I was going to just place a 'normal' holder there.
