Guys,

Just fitted another pair of new tyres to my B7 spec ed TDi. (235/40/18)

The fitters at the tyre place informed me that the Conti Contact Sport 3's are now being produced in a special "R01" batch specifically for Audi's.

I wonder if Audi have finally realised that tyre wear is diabolical on the B7 and have released a harder compound?

...or is it just another way to pile on a few extra quid?

"Its specifically designed for the Audi sir, that'll be £183 a tyre"!!!!!!!!:crying: :crying:

Know what you mean. My tyres lasted for less than 10,000 miles on the front (Conti Sport Contacts on a 2.0T petrol). They seem to be as soft as putty. The guy at my Audi dealer said I'd done well for them to last that long.
And just to rub salt in to the wound, the gits at the tyre fitters (sub contracted by the dealer) chipped the alloys around the wheel nut holes and I had to prat around having the wheel repainted.

Has anyone fitted Bridgestone 050's to an A4 Quattro 2.0T Special Edition (220bhp)?

The Conti's on it from new have been rubbish, only done 7.5k miles and the fronts need to be replaced.

Anyone got any other recommendations?
