in my B6, I had this headunit & it just played audio CDs.

in the new B7 i'm getting on tuesday, it looks like the same unit but with silver rotary faders for the volume etc.

the car is an 06 2.0T FSi Q S-line SE

any ideas if it will play data CDs so i can mp3 it up without the need for an iPod adapter?

A bit of a stab in the dark but based on my MY06 A3 with 6cd in dask I'd say, No, (unfortunetly for both of us!)

If it a symphony II+ then yes it will, however as its an 06 car its probably just a symphony II so that wont play MP3's.

it looks exactly the same as the symphony unit in my outgoing '53 plate B6, but with metal rings around the rotary controls.

all good - i'll sort out an ipod adapter :)

Dont have high expectations of it! No track names and poor functionality IMO.

That's still a Symphony II then - so it won't play MP3 CDs.

Don't expect too much of the iPod interface - you won't see any track names and your iPod will appear just as 6 virtual CDs.
