ECU Mod?

I've owned an A4 2.0 FSI Special Edition from new in June 2006. At the first service, I unknowlingly had an ECU upgrade to implement a 'clutch protection system', which has fundamentally changed the driving characteristics.

I don't seem to be able to get the modification reversed. They will do it for diesels but not for petrol.

Has any one else got any experience of this please? The next step will be to write to Audi, but this is very frustrating.

I've been speaking to the service manager at the garage and he agrees that a lot of other customers are complaining about the mod.

His only suggestion is to write to the head office to complain, on the basis that if enogh people complain, something might be done.

Would a chip company be able to revert it back to the orginal factory spec? Warranty issues loom, but I ned to get this resolved.
