Hi All,
Following on from my woes outlined in this the following thread I have some remaining issues

http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/audi-s4-a4-a4-cab-b7-chassis/219598-2-0t-engine-seized.html

When picking up the car the mechanic told me the knock sensor and temperature sensor needed replacing but because "I insisted on having the car back on Friday" (after them having it 6 weeks) they didn't have time to fix them and so I should take it back to have them done.
As a result the fan is always on due to the temp sensor and the engine management light is constantly on due to the knock sensor.
Also, the reverse lights and parking sensors are not working, so this is another thing that will be going on my snag list.

The main problem I have though is that there is a power issue. The turbo does not seem to kick in properly, it feels like it did before I had my Diverter Valve changed (back when every thing seemed so perfect for those few weeks before the catastrophic failure of my engine!)

I had a new cylinder head, but am wondering, would there have been any reason to mess, change the diverter valve at any point during the engine rebuild? Just wondering whether a used one from another engine could have found its way on somehow?
(obviously I will be calling the garage to ask this tomorrow anyway)

Another thing is, the exhaust seems to be blowing in the mid section, I guess it has not been fully sealed properly. Could this be the reason for the lack in turbo kick or could it be linked the the knock sensor issue?

I was hoping that after spending £2.7k things would all be perfect now :(

Thanks in advance
Chris

Hi Chris, sorry to hear about your car woes. Mine has developed an engine fault too now. Anyway with yours, sounds like they -

a) Need to change the knock & temp sensors. Also car maybe in limp mode?

b) Clear codes and check for further errors

c) Reconnect/check the wiring for the reverse light switch on the gearbox
http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/a4-a4-...-chassis/153395-reverse-light-switch-how.html

d) Remove your divertor valve, check the condition and part number of it? See my GFB thread for info
http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/audi-s...1-turbo-bypass-valve-tfsi-engines-review.html

e) Check the boost pipes and intercoolers in case one isn't on properly. A smoke test would help find a leak too?

e) Check the exhaust joints - the centre ones are slip on and clamped in position?

Good luck sorting it all out!

Alistair

Cheers Al, I have texted the mechanic my issues, no reply yet but probably because it is Sunday.
Hopefully will hear from him tomorrow at some point so I can get the car back in to him asap
