Got my HID's throuigh today. Any B7 ownerws with HID's please advise whether they had to remove their bumper to fit them and also, where did you place your ballasts for best airflow etc?

Thanks, Lewis

You need a very lon torx bit and you don't need to remove bumper I just undid the lights and moved forward lights and fitted my kit mate

Two nuts at top and one on each side
Deep down of light you will need small torch and as said long torx screw driver

I'd take the bumper off and do it, so much space to hide the ballasts behind.

3 x torx under the bonnet, top of grille
3 x underneath to seperate from undertray

Now for the last 4, you have to undo the arch liner and push it out tge way. You will see 2 more torx and remove them. Then you will see 2 x 10mm nuts, ideally need long extension with 10mm socket. The. Just pull the bumper away from the car.

bumper off is the best way
but if you cant be ***** to remove the bumper.
it can be done very tight tho and not many options to put the ballast.

I honestly didn't think it was so tight doing it without bumper of and took at most 30mins taking my time.

ill have to have a look and see whats best for my car then. cheers peeps

Somewhere mentioned about changing fuses in regards to HID's and voltage etc etc... is this not necessary because the ballasts sort that out?

As long as your kit is a canbus kit for your car there is no need to change fuses.
