My new A4 Avant appears to have some slots in the tailgate hinge covers that indicate the opening height can be adjusted. Having now smacked the tailgate against my open garage door I thought I would take the unusual step of reading the manual but can see no mention of what to do. I have tried stuffing various things in the adjustment slots but without success, any ideas ? If not I suppose I could talk to the Audi Centre.......
