As above, do any of you guys use these and are they any good, the lip around the edge looks a bit shallow or do you find it deep enough? Thanks, Karl.

Depends on the purpose, would personally put a blanket down if it's for an animal or for anything else just deal with the mess using carpet cleaner later.

Travall boot mats are very good. They are not as "popular" as some other brands but the quality you get is somewhat much higher. I bough mine in August last year, and trust me it's very thick. I also like the anti-slip design. The lip is more than deep enough to contain any spills , here is a picture I took not a while ago:
