Never again for servicing. Decided since my DTM is full Audi history to keep it up until today. Thought at almost 100k and having done other maintenance myself, I'd take on the servicing.

Well what can I say, the oil is never 9k old nor was the filter. Had to get my 4ft breaker bar on to the filter housing which was staring to look like it was going to snap. Sump plug took the same bar so if they were done recently they were way over tightened. I'd hazard that neither have been off in a long time. Suspect they have been doing the long life top ups rather than the full changes I asked for and was charged for.

Check you're getting what you pay for if you use this lot.

Hmm the parts guy wouldn't sell me part that wasn't for my car. Then later realised it was.

That's not exclusive to Glasgow Audi. The parts department at my local dealer (Bexley) are just the same. When I tried ordering the parts for an RS4 rear anti-roll bar upgrade, as soon as I gave them my reg number, they just kept saying "those parts won't fit your car". These days, I always try to arm myself with part numbers first, and then just order by the part number without even mentioning which car they are for.

Do you have a branch of Trade Parts Specialists (TPS) near you? If you so, it might be worth enquiring if they will do direct sales to the public (some do, some don't). Usually some money to be saved that way, too, as you then don't have to pay the additional 25% mark-up that the dealer adds on to the price TPS charges them.

Heard some right rough stories from the front and back end of this dealer.....Not sure whether it's arrogance or just poor training.....you'd think having such a good branded product to sell you'd be proud to be part of the ownership vibe.....clearly some don't see it that way and couldnae give a sh1t about customer experience....shameful.

Maybe they suck the oil out which may explain the tight sump plug, but obviously doesnt explain the tight filter housing, most of the plastic filters I come across are either 25 or 40 nm so not tight at all.

They trouble with the parts is I had the number and an under bonnet photo (fed up getting home with wrong parts) and he still took 20 min of convincing. Wasn't like it was a different models part as an upgrade. I have a TPS account but it was a cheap part and Audi is closer to my work.

The staff on the whole seem polite and helpful, but that means nothing if they are not doing the service.

I did think top side extraction as I was doing that myself until I saw the oil was so bad. Also without the 4ft bar there is no way the filter housing was coming out, so impossible from the top.

So disappointed from such a good brand. But lesson learned and back to doing all my own servicing.
