I've recently sold my landcruiser amazon, it was full time four wheel drive, so not a good idea to put unenly treaded tyres on it, ie new on the front, worn on the back, caused transmission wind up, I now have a quattro and would like to put a set of winter tyres on it, can I fit a pair at a time, funds won't stretch to all four in one go.

My understanding (which may be wrong) is that tyres on a Quattro should be a matched quartet at all times.
