Just wondering what your thoughts on cold weather auto changing are.
This is my first diesel and first proper auto/tipronic box. Is it better for the engine to keep the box in auto and have it rev (guess it is the choke or similar) or put it into tip and go up the gears sooner when the engine is cold. The first 3 or miles of my journeys are 40mph zones so only get to 6 out of 7 gears. The auto likes to stay in gear and rev longer.
is it more economical to use tip and lower revs or is this over-riding the engines want to stay in gear and potentially cause damage.
Cheers
