Oil Options?

Had a warning light come up this morning saying my oil level was minimum, what oil should i get to fill her back up? Halfords suggests 5w30? Should i use semi or fully synthetic? What brands should i look at or avoid? Thanks

Fully synthetic that conforms to the Audi standard, Castrol, Mobil, Fuchs are what I use.

You shouldn't mix your oil up Matey If you are unsure. If you have the service book and the last service was a VAG dealer....good chance it will be VAG long life...should maybe say in the service book. For the same price a full tank of derv you could treat your pride and joy to an oil and filter change and put in some nice fresh gear to be on the safe side.
