    Brake Upgrades

    Gents,

With my new wheels im getting having bigger gaps so the full brakes are on view im looking into what 'other' brake set ups are going around

Would ideally love a rs4 big brake set up something to fill the gaps, so what you running??

Car is an sline at min with drilled and grooved discs which yeah are fine dont get me wrong, just wanting the look and the extra stopping power wont go a miss

Can do the cayenne conversion for £800 all in. Not only would it stop but it would look the tits aswell! That's even including a calliper refurb in your colour of choice. The rs4 brakes are a fortune, not to mention £500 for a set of discs. I've been looking into this for a while now. Cayenne upgrade is the cheapest by far
K04 hybrid turbo. S3 injectors, Autotech hpfp internals, RS4 fuel pressure regulator, custom FMIC, APR carbonio intake, decat pipe, milltek cat back non resonated 100mm tips, unicorn developments custom remap, launch control and flat shift. Valet mode, economy map and full power map options. Stage 3 southbend clutch with single mass flywheel, Eibach pro street coilovers, eibach front and rear anti roll bars, porsche cayenne 6 pot calipers front, S4 rear brake conversion.

    Did my Cayennes for £500.

Word of caution though, if you're doing the fronts don't forget the rears. My car did feel unbalanced initially, not sure if I just wasn't used to good brakes but they were very sharp. After fitting the S4 rears though car feels much better with a very close to stock feel now, maybe it's better balanced or maybe I've just got used to them, who knows. Awesome brakes tho and well worth the cash.

Wow nicely done for £500 mate, callipers are £400 on there own without a refurb these days. Been watching some for a while now. Unless you go for the Q7 callipers for £300 (all because they don't say Porsche) I can't find th any cheaper
Sorry to hijack the thread but what did you do for the s4 rear conversion? Just discs pads and carriers? If so where did you find the carriers? I've been struggling. The callipers seem to be the same part number in the special edition, dunno if its the same throughout like?

My calipers came from Bulgaria, £340 delivered, took a few weeks to arrive tho. The mounting bolts that are a crazy price on EBay came from Poland for €18 delivered. These were both bought through another Audi forum from trusted sellers. Remember not all 18z have the same piston sizes, Q7, Tourareg ones are both fine but Porsche ones come with various set ups some of which are too big for our master cylinders. Rule of thumb tho is to avoid red ones as they're from Turbo S Cayenne and have huge pistons and give crap pedal feel and make sure they have external balance pipes as you have to swap them over with the bleed nipples. I can't remember if it's the q7 or Tourareg but some came with internal balance pipes.

For the rear you'll need calipers from the S4 too, discs are 300mm but vented so you need the wider caliper. I just contacted someone on EBay who was breaking a B6 S4 and paid £150 for calipers and carriers. Don't just search for S4 calipers, you'll pay usual EBay scene tax, search for S4 breaking and go from there. Only thing I don't have yet are the larger brake shields but doesn't seem to be any issues without them so far.

I didn't realise there was so many variants! Thanks for the advice! I shall keep looking then. The rears are a job worth doing for definate. I'll keep my eyes peeled for a breaker
