Looking at getting some new wheels for the car and was wondering whats the widest tyres that can go on an Avant thats been lowered on eibachs ?

I have spotted a set of 8.5 x 19" fronts and 9.5x19" rears ET35.................what tyre sizes would best suit these

When I got my wheels (8.5j ET48) the tyres it came with were 255/35/19 and was scraping on the inside wheel arch at the fronts (can't comment on the rear as I already had 15mm spacers fitted). Had to fit 10mm spacers temporarily until I got my new tyres (235/35/19) which fit fine although get some scrape on full lock so had to fit 5mm spacers to overcome this.

This is all on standard S-Line suspension. Thinking of lowering slightly soon and have got some B5 cups to fit too. Hopefully won't be too much of an issue.

9.5 - 235 or 245 35/19
8.5 235/35/19
if its a quattro best same size all round

with the 8.5's at the front and 9.5's at the rear it will give it a better look....Also not a quattro

On a standard height
8.5j rim 225/35/19
9.5j rim 235/35/19

lowered
8.5j rim 215/35/19
9.5j rim 225/35/19 or 215/35/19 depending on how much you'r lowered.

I run 235/35/19's with no issues at all. Although I have run 255 in the past and they did catch the rear arch

my avant is lowered on ebach 50/40

my fronts are 8.5j with 235/35/19
my rears are 9.5j with 255/30/19

got no issues at all with rubbing
although did try putting 18 boxes of large tiles for the bathroom in the back
only got round the corner before i smelt rubber burning so had to reload half of them onto the front and back seats
no rubbing after that hope this helps :ermm:

Ran 245/35 rear and 235/35 front on the same setup a while back, could push for 255 and 245 but best not to.
