not me now,i have 07 2.0 tfsi with the bonnet open the heat from around the turbo area is so hot you couldn't hold your hand 1 foot away for more than a few seconds,should it be getting this hot,temp gauge is bang on 90
The cat. does get damn hot. I've put a heat shield between it and my coolant temp. sensor as I believe the heat causes it's premature failure. You can check that your cat is working correctly with an infrared thermometer. It should be around 600C at the inlet and 700C at the outlet. Higher temp = mixture too rich. Lower or same temp = cat ****ed.
