Hi Guys,

New to the B7 section had my DTM since start of march. Been on asn for a few years normally over on the 8P section as had my A3 for nearly 4years. The DTM due its first service in my ownership and wanted to get some maintenance work out (for piece of mind) of the way at the same time before i go Revo stage 2. So got a few questions and any help would be great. Car seems to be well maintained most of the service history with Audi and the rest at the same vag specialist for the last four years.
Last service was just 10k So i'm looking to service the car next week some time.

So far on my list i have:
Oil but which one would you lot recommend?
Oil Filter
Fuel Filter
Air Filter
Spark Plug which ones?
Pollen Filter
Sump Plug & Washer
Anything else? Coil packs been changed by Audi on the recall.

Maintenance work:
Cam Follower A06D 109 309 C
Tensioner A06F 109 217 A
Chain A06D 109 229B B
Gasket A06F 103 483 D
Screw A06D 109 281 D
seal 06E 127 248 not sure if this is the correct part number?

And my front discs and pads could do with a change was going to do the S4 conversion but for how much the carriers cost new i'd rather put that money towards BBK. In less i can find some used carriers at a good price. So what discs and pads would you lot recommend? If there anything else i should get changed before the remap due to weak spots please do say or any other advise

Thanks

Hey, I recently am also in the same boat as you as I also purchased a DTM and going through the exact same maintence checks.

With reards to oil. They recommended 5w30 Fully synthetic. Im going for castrol edge. Audi use Quantum Longlife 3 Oil 5/30.

As for spark plugs if you going to be chipping you can run a cooler spark plug something like NGK BKR7E which is copper unless you want to use Iridium then it is NGK BKR7EIX.

What mileage is on the vehicle?

If you are not having issues with your cars idling don't bother with this but due to mine being lumpy at idle I am replacing my PCV as mine is still the OEM "version C" on the car and I am going with the replacement unit from Audi. I made a thread a few days ago if you do want yo replace yours as the part numbers etc are listed in the link.

Which tensioner are you referring too?

You could get the brake fluid changed depending on the condition of it.

Depending on your budget if you want to stick to stock brake set up Audi do a good deal in terms of fixed pricing for our cars £269 all inclusive for front pads and new discs "drilled ventilated as per standard fitment" which does not seem bad considering ECP want to charge £126 per disc, with discount is about 95 per disc which is already £190 with out pads okay this is for pagids. But at least you get 2 years warranty with the audi ones.

As for the remap I would suggest you uprate you diverter valve to revision D or go for a Forge.

When last was the cambelt/waterpump done?

Hope this helps

Hi, i've the same car and what geosabcsl recommends about audi fixed pricing on brakes makes sense. You'll just have to remind the dealership that you don't have ordinary brakes before work starts.

I have a magnetic sump plug which I use to trap loose swaff and to stop it recirculating and wearing the engine. Also, use a charcoal cabin filter as opposed to a cheaper paper filter. I believe, though not 100% certain, that only diesels use fuel filters.

Definitely change the dv to a forge dv as the oem tends to split and I would suggest this is a necessity if you're going to remap. Aircon and brake fluid both need doing every two years.

Petrol BGB 2.0t engines have fuel filters so am guessing yours will have too....there 3/4 up the sill side on underneath of the offside underneath chassis..if I remember right.

Cheers

Molnboman, you are correct. All 2.0T have fuel filters they basically infront of the offside rear wheel. Under a plastic covering.

Hi mate,

Thanks for the reply/advice. Its on 106k had a service at 98k last year. I'll have a read of your thread just in case i have the same issue later on. Thanks for the advice on brakes, was thinking of taking it back to my local audi dealer as they had full service history of my A3. But want to get more stuck in on the A4 so my uncle and myself will be changing all the parts. Will go order the parts from audi tomorrow :) Hopefully book it in for fortnight time for a remap. Do you have a link for the forge one? Cambelt/waterpump was changed some time in 70k. They will get changed later in the year as will be looking at turbo upgrade. Cheers

Thanks for the reply. Yeah i was sure i read some where about them splitting. Where did you buy your magnetic sump plug from mate?

Hey Ash, no worries.

The link for the forge diverter valve below:
Forge Motorsport | Alloy Fabrication

The reason I asked about the miles is because a lot of people ignore the fact about changing rear diff fluid and transmission fluids etc. Even thou audi state they are "sealed for life". To be honest they both have a drain hole and a filler hole so that in my eyes is enough reason to change it and 2 being most important is the fact that any oils/fluids etc break down were it be from heat/ water vapour etc. Just give me a shout if you would like the part numbers for it.

Just some advice if you know or have someone in the motor trade. Get them to order the parts from a company called TPS "trade parts specialist" they supply Audi there parts and are part of a chain. Could save yourself a few ££'s. Having said that some TPS do not mind dealing with public so if there is one locally to you ask them do they deal with public. Sometimes you can just walk in and ask for the parts and walk out sorta thing. Just luck of the draw of who you get behind the counter.

And just a follow up for Andy I dont know were he got his sump plug from but here is a link to one below:

ECS Magnetic Drain Plug With 10 Copper Washers - A4 (B7) - Audi - Shop By Car

They have quite a few things you might be interested in.

Thanks for the link mate. Yes i was wondering about changing rear diff fluid and transmission fluids etc after reading a thread. Think i might as well do that at the same time, better safe than sorry. Yes please if i could have a part number

I'm going to call TPS today and see if their prices are better than the discount i currently get from audi parts. Hopefully :) Got friends and family in the trade so will get them to order from tps as have heard about having to be trade to deal with them.
Thanks for the link will have a look at it now. Will let you both know how i get on  Thanks again for the help.
