Hi guys,

I'm back in an Audi after selling my B6 1.8T Avant last year.
I decided to go for a TDI this time as the main reason I sold the B6 was because of its poor fuel consumption. I opted for a high mileage 170TDI S-line SE that's spent most of it's life up and down motorways as a sales reps car for a local engineering firm. it's had the injectors all changed at Audi and a new turbo at some point too. It has the RNS-e and the full colour DIS which was exactly what I wanted as I would have retro fit them at a later date anyway!
My first mod is going to be a DPF delete as soon as I can save up some pennies after the purchase !

Anyway, here's a quick pic for now ...

yeah, I just took it down a B-road on the way back from grabbing some shopping and it shifts !
Different power delivery to my old pd130 Golf wagon, you just find yourself looking at the speedo and going "oops!"

Im not so sure on these DTM wheels (although they are growing on me) I would prefer the 5 spoke S-lines tbf. But we shall see what the future brings :)

Whilst I'm here I'll just post some fresh pics I took last night ...

I have no idea why, but my rear wiper is stuck in the erect position!? Im gonna be removing the whole thing soon anyway so not too much of a problem

Back in black! Very nice... wish you all the best with it and it looks like you have the dreaded knackered rear wiper mode!

thanks man, yeah the wiper is kind of annoying but not as annoying as my leaking windscreen last week ! The garage I bought it from had the screen changed before the sale as it had a crack but the other morning I had all kinds of wetness coming from between the headlining and the glass, I was not best pleased !

They sorted it out though and now I have a fresh new screen that does not leak (hopefully!- it's not rained since)

So, I decided to go for a set of FK coils from Damian at DPM - I didn't want to spend mega bucks as I'm hopefully going Air again once I can afford to upgrade. These should be getting fitted at the weekend if all goes to plan.

are there any tips you guys can give regarding the install ? I have read the A4Mods install DIY on the B6 which I believe is going to be exactly the same.

After 7 hours me and my mate managed to get the front coils on and set just so, would have taken less time but I was too eager for lows amd set the coils waaay too low at first so spent a good long time taking wheels on and off so I don't kill my arches

Your getting there 7 hours for just the front....Happy Days eh?....can I ask what the damage was for the coilovers?
Keep the faith. Keep the pics goin......

haha thanks!
The FK coils were only £195 from DPM via eBay.co.uk
granted, I only have the fronts in, but the ride is really good compared to the standard S-line setup

So, got new wheels and Still not got the rear coils in ! also de-wipered the rear and US plate blank

Looking sweet pal, were did you get the front blank plate from, wouldn't mind one myself

cheers man, plate blank was around £45 from my local TPS.
my mate has one for sale (with chrome strips) if you're interested ?

was idealy after one without the chrome strips lol, i had found that one on ebay but wanted a all black on to match the front grill and soon to be de-chromed car lol

nice car but them wheels are sick suit it down to a tea, is their a spacer on them to fit ?

im sure bentleys are 5x112 so do not require adaptors, Someone may correct me if im talking out my rear

Not keen on adapters myself. Is the bentley wheels et35 or 41? after a set of wheels myself not sure what to go after bar 19"s.

The Bentleys are 5x112 indeed, offset is ET41 and the sizes are 19x9J and no spacers

wigandill: 8E0 807 287 C 3FZ is the part no for the black unpainted one like mine

no rubbing issues or maybe the advant has more room than the saloon? i prefer your colour to the chrome ones.

Gotta love a set of dark Bentleys on a Black Avant

But i would say that..................(Mine are for sale aswell)

I've really been slack about fitting the Air and it's still not done but getting there ..

I had all the management and bags all piled up in my back room (which the mrs loved)

I also needed to work out where I was going to fit the controller, Pretty set on fitting it stealthily under the ashtray cover

Luckily I read that a chap off Edition38 forum was splitting his bagged B7 and after a few emails and texts I went to meet up and swapped my standard ashtray and V1 controller with this nice Alcantara trimmed item ..

Where do you put your plate? I've been thinking of buying the US plate for while but then I'd kick myself if I had to drill it to attach the plate. Then I started thinking about making a magnetic backed plate and attaching opposite pole magnets to the inside of the plate. Been done a few times on the MK5 golf I'm aware and works well.

Great job on the air ride though, very neat.

cheers,

I have infact bonded neodidium magnets to the rear of the plate plinth and the back of my number plate.
I fitted them with reversed polarity each side so no muppets at work decide to mount the plate upside down without my knowledge ;)

Nice, got a picture? Be interested to see what it looks like.
