Hi guys n gals ,

I been running an Audi A4 1.8T for 3 over years now.
With the price of petrol now - I m thinking of converting my car to bio fuel , i.e. - compressed natural gas and petrol. What with c.n.g. at half the price of petrol - I think the time has come.
Only when I need the oomph shall I press the switch to change to petrol.
Have you chaps know of anyone doing this ?

Cheers !

Nope - you are wrong - I know what you mean by biodegradable fuel like - palm oil, rape seed blah blah .....

Mercedes has actually rolled out cars that can run on petrol and c.n.g.

And at switch of button you can switch to petrol or c.n.g.

Lets say if you are carrying your old folks or kids you run on c.n.g if you just want to get there or you meet up with slow heavy traffic.

If you wants to race with your pal then you switch to petrol.

Running on c.n.g. is very much cheaper ( 50 - 60 % ) but much lower performance coz of lower calorific value n causes much less pollution.

Do not know wether the new Audi will go in that direction.

Cheers mate !

Checked with Audi UK, can't run the 2.0TDI unit on bio fuel, invalidates warranty apparently. Shame, got a bio fuel filling station 1 mile from my home.

i'm taking my mate to get his imprezza lpg'd tomorrow £1500, i know there are cheaper but you get what you pay for www.autogas4u.com

my mate has also been telling me about cng is next step up performance wise

funkycat how much is biofuel selling at? haven't seen a station here with it

oh right, i really had never heard of it before, cheers
