Lack of power, juddering! any ideas?? 2.0tdi 170

hey guys, so recently my car has started juddering again, 2.0tdi 170, remapped DPF delete/removed along those lines, anyways i was giving it blast along the motorway got to 145...ummm Kph in case of any cops wondering...
and then it started to nicely judder after, now if i boot it from 2000-3000rpm it judders quite bad, then after 3000rpm the judder soothes out, and its just a complete lack of power,

i've had a very similar problem before where it was juddering, but no lack of power, that turned out to be the torque limiter cutting in due to the remap not changing the settings, but i dont think its the torque limiter this time,

i've put on a fault code reader, no faults, no warnings, checked the turbo its spot on, just wondering if anyones had the same and solved it before i start splashing out on MAF/boost sensors?

aslo i did unplug the MAF sensor and it made no difference, but i just want to check what others have to say?

    help will be appreciated

    Fuel filter?

Mine was juddering under load and it was the fuel filter.

Has it had the injectors changed?

well, it had a service 6000miles ago, oils, filters, and fuel filter, and yeah at the same time it had the injector mod done,
it has a pretty decent lack of power aswell, currently checking all the vacume pipes on the turbo for splits, also the whole intake system for leaks, cant hear any hissing under load/boost but then again it doesnt even boost i want my turbo back!

My mates 170 was exactly the same, he had the fuel filter supposedly changed a couple of thousand miles before his started juddering, at the main dealer aswell. He was reluctant to get it changed again but when he finally did..........the problem was gone.
Id definitely try it as a first port of call.

unfortunately it wasn't the fuel filter, fitted a new one the weekend, after once again rechecking for any splits or boost leaks, and rechecked the smaller pipes from the actuator :S

When you say you have put a fault code reader on the car,was it VCDS or a general code reader?

juat a general fault code reader from mac tools, but i asked the remappers (if thats a word) would VCDS read something that maybe my one wouldnt, he said for fault codes it shouldn't make any difference, but now i've also been told by someone else who remapps that having a DPF delete cause fault codes not to show up?? i didnt quite understand what he was on about really, but it did seem weird that no fault was shown, and it didnt revert back to standard settings when i unplugged the MAF sensor,

an update for anyone who may be having similar problems, i've had the remap removed to make sure it wasnt the settings making Angelina (the A4) ill, after the map was taking off, still had the same problem go over 2.000 RPM then the judder starts, anyways after hours of racing up and down the motorway with VCDS doing a live sensor reading, and well... all sensors are happily doing there job, and just to make sure even compared the readings to another audi A4 170tdi and nothing was out of place,

the only thing that was slightly odd was the car is slightly over boosting for standard settings (no remap) instead of 1.5 bar its at 1.6, and that the juddering starts in every gear when it builds up to 1.6 bar of boost,

so altho it still hasnt been sorted yet, i hope that this weekend to have the exhaust off and check for any blockages that may off been caused from the DPF breaking up, as when it was removed it was only drilled to match the size of the exhaust,

will update should i find anything and cure my baby...

I know this is an old thread but I was having a lot of performance issues with my one, juddering, no power over 3000 revs, like driving a 1.1 Fiesta really! Change the fuel filter and the car goes like a rocket, probably 4 x the power I had previously.

I did clean out the EGR valve but a fuel filter is a quicker and easier job and cost £11.

So for future readers of this thread try the fuel filter first even if you have recently had it changed. It only takes one tank of dodgy fuel to clog it up.

Thanks eddscott for another line of diagnosis.
