Hu Guys

Im thinking of a buying a A4 1.8T (B7 budget is £7k)convertible and would like to know what to look out for as common faults?

Also need help with the following:

Is Manual better or Multitronic?
Does the SLINE have better spec/trim or the Sport?
Which model has multifunction steering wheel and Bose sound system? SLINE or Sport? or are these optional extras
Does the standard sound system natively support MP3 or do I need one of these
Venturi MINI multi-function Car Kit FM Transmitter: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics

Any other tips/pointers would be most appreciated.

thanks

SS

i dont like the multis autos etc thats something thats up to you
bose etc is optional on se and s-line
as are mfsw
my s-line 07 came with mfsw dis thats it i retro fitted the rest the sport is more or less the same as s-line just older name
only the RNS-E comes with mem card slots for the music
everything you need can be retro fitted
the sline has better seats 3 spoke wheel slightly lower and stiffer better bumpers
the se is comfey so they say

any common faults on these? leaky roof windows not shutting properly?

im on my 4th
iv had an 03 03 08 now on the 07
never had any leaks windows always close as they should
you need to make sure its had the belts done water pump and good service history
quite a few have the oil pick up pipe bung up and take the turbo and engine out
CTS coolent temp sensor can go quite offen but a cheap easy repair
other than that there good solid cars unless you get a bad 1

thanks bez

will keep that in mind, how often should the cambelt water pump be changed? if one has been changed at say 51k and the car as 70k , is it prudent to get it changed as soon as I get it or can leave it for anther 10k?

or if car has done 59k and nver had the belt replaced shud i get it replaced as soon as I get it?
