    Bulbs!

I changed my numberplate bulbs for LED ones purchased off someone on this forum, they never worked, changed back to the standard ones, they now don't work, i tried adjusting the little contacts but nothing!

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

Did you inform the person you bought the led ones from, that they didn't work first?

I know it sounds obvious mate, but have you tried them both way round. They'll only work one way.i had same problem with my LEDs didn't work, turned engine off and on again switched them over a few times and they worked. They are a bit temperamental and still bring up errors so'll be changing for ice white festoons from trups. Which ones have you got to try mate?

501 bayonet style bulbs are poled, they'll only work one way round.

These are the festoons from trups

They're not on their own fuse are they?

    10w ones?

Could be a dodgy earth, I thought they were on the same circuit as other's but could be wrong.

So basically the prongs on the base of the bulb weren't straight?

So, now that you've done all this faffing about and got them working, what is the benefit of LED lights to you? I ask this because I'm guessing that when your number plates are lit, you can't see them because you're driving the car.

Exactly "Would look good".....to whom. They person in the car behind you who probably won't notice, or he or she does notice, doesn't care.

I think the difference is that with most external mods, you can see them, and enjoy them, every time you observe the car. But that's not the case with number plate lights. They're only really observable by other people.

If that's the case, why not just put a Ferrari seat in a Nissan micra?

was that 10w or 5w you had mate, was hoping to swop out LED's for these as bulb error is annoying, but they do look good especially with my new LED tail lights

I disagree with this point, everytime I unlock my car at night, the LED numberplate lights shine bright and reflect off the chrome trim that sits above the bumper (which you also don't see when you're driving) and really brings out the true colour of the car at night. Unlike the yellow candles I had in there previously. My pressed plates help to this effect too (which I also don't see when I'm driving).

Fair dos; I hadn't thought of that.
