Just got my car back from an Audi specialist and I noticed that the receipt said the car is a BRE engine and it's a 2007 car with the changed belt etc... But I could of sworn that my car is a 2006 car and a BLB engine as I plugged vag com in the other week to do fault check???
Any ideas??

BLB was mainly used in 2005 models (when it was made as opposed to registered) although there are a handful of 2006 cars with it. It is possible you had a BLB originally but it was changed for whatever reason. Check your sticker in the spare wheel well, see if it says BRE or BLB on the code.

Cheers mate, I will do, the mechanic also said my model shouldn't suffer with the oil pump failure also.

Well, it won't suffer the shearing plastic issue that dogs the BLBs (if it isn't a BLB) but it could have the hex shaft problem which affects all the B7 2.0TDIs.
