Hi All,
I'm new to the site and was wondering if someone can help me with a problem i'm having.
My car kept going into limp mode a lot and found out that the veins had parts missing on the exhaust side so I brought another a recon unit after fitting this I'm experiencing no boost/power until around 2200/2500 revs and chucks out a load of black smoke meaning over fueling i think. I have taken it to a vag specialist garage to get it checked out and he said that all vac pipes and everything else seems to be working as they should. He said it maybe the injectors could not be atomizing properly or the cat maybe blocked .I know the cat is not at fault as I have decatted it since and still no difference. This fault is really becoming a problem now as I am not sure as to where to turn/investigate next and I'm just throwing more and more money at it and I'm starting to loose interest in the car. I'm now wondering if when they assembled the recon turbo that they actually put the vnt operating ring in. I didnt have any of these problems until the new turbo was fitted as it only went into limp mode which make's me think that the turbo is duff.
Any help would be appreciated and many thanks in advance cheers Craig

Your car is a B7, I've moved it to the right forum for you.

where did you buy the recon from ?

id never buy from ebay
take it to a good mech and have if fully checked
if turbo is at fault get a full report and send it back
but they will prob say its fitted wrong etc so it invalidated the gaurntee
