Was on a relevant forum last night and it said to reset iPhone, and try and pair within 5 mins of unlocking and turning on the car, it worked :)

lol,

That is easy mate, just press the speak button on your wheel, then say "help" and the nice lady will give you all possible commands.

Simples ;-)

There were 3 flavours of phone prep, fixed phone, cradle only, bt/cradle, so what Bez is stating could & probably is true.

All the relevant control modules sit under the same seat & in same box type, you may mistake the fact it doesnt have phone at all, because you're so used to seeing the bt type module, whereas the other 2 type modules arent anything like the bt version.

If someone puts doubt on something, I always find it better to research the issue before completely disputing it :)

Hi NHN,

Ive been searching for the answer to save the embarrassment of having to ask it myself:readit: .. I have the button on the steering wheel for the female equivalent of hal2000, along with an RNS-E and a cradle in the armrest. Going off your post, it is still possible I don't have Bluetooth then? If I select TEL it says "not connected" yet a search with my phone, soon after engine start, doesn't find anything? :(

If I don't have Bluetooth what kit do I need to get and what rough cost?

Cheers

Pete

You would need to scan the car to see if it shows anything in module 77, if it does then get the part no. so we can ascertain verson of phone module fitted, but you may not have BT if you search via bt on handset & nothing shows up.

I can supply/fit the parts, so feel free to PM me for further info.

See Audi Bluetooth / TEL interface - part numbers | Audi Forum for phone module part numbers.

Cheers both. I rebooted the iPhone as suggested by the OP and that worked. Must be an iPhone thing.

Woot well pleased!
