I see the 20% off is on again. Has anyone got a 2.0TFSI that's been Bluefin'd?

Was googling this last night but after about 3 mins read/cam to the conclusion that it's better to stick to an Audi specialist such as AMD instead of Superchips, who are more generic/general tuners.
AMD seems to give better power and torque figures too with (I think) power runs before and after.

Thanks for the suggestions, unfortunately Googling is what led me to ask the question. There is so much opinion about which maps are bad and which are good. Almost any company has supporters and those who say it is rubbish. So I was interested to hear from someone that actually had the map rather than had read about it on a forum. Hope that makes sense? :)

@Rick, what kind of figures and price do you offer for a custom remap on A4 2.0TFSi??

I have the bluefin map on my otherwise std DTM, made a nice improvement to the cars performance and the fuel economy if anything seems a little better on the motorway. Sure some other maps offer higher figures but I was after good reliability and a noticeable performance increase which is what I ended up with.

@weekenny thank you. That's exactly the kind of helpful, personal experience I was after.

I had the Bluefin Superchips on by 2.0T Quattro A3 and it was certainly worthwhile. There was a deal on at my local VAG specialist and I think I paid £400 all in.

I then changed the A3 2.0T for an S3....and because less then a year had passed since I had purchased the Bluefin device, I was able to transfer the map (after another upload to the Superchips server) Free Of Charge because it was another 2.0Tfsi engine.

Superchips do offer a "conservative" remap, say "only" 20-30% power and torque gains, but they offer a comprehensive 12 month warranty and being one ofthe most establsihed palyers on the market you can be assured it will have been well developed and tested. Sure there are other cheaper and more powerful maps out there, but Superchips have "pedigree".

Only piece if advice I'd give is whatever map you go for, make sure you have the Diverter Valve (DV) replaced with a more recent OEM one (designed for cars such as the S3\ Golf R MY09 +) because the diaphragm is much more durable. Mine went on the A3 2.0T Q almsot as soon as I loaded the map on. So I had the DV upgarded on my S3 (it's an 08 plate before the upgraded DV became standard fit) before I loaded the map on as a prevetative measure. My local VAG indy charged me £70 all in.

@Busby thanks for that. A very informative post. No idea what DV mine is on but probably the original as it has not done many miles.

APR's remapping main focus is on the VAG range, you always have to be a little wary about tuners that offer maps for ALL cars. Specialists in one market rather than a jack of all trades, if you know what I mean?

With software there really is no need to offer a warranty as the mapping just simply cannot change once it has been up loaded and if there was a problem it would show as soon as it is mapped. Plus company such as APR wouldn't release mapping that is not correct in the first place :) However, if there was a problem and it proven to be at the mappings fault then you would be covered! But APR do offer a 30 day money back so for whatever reason, don't like it, or just need the money back.. Not a problem at all :D

Awesome Mike

Thanks Mike for taking the time to reply. APR would be a good choice but I don't have cruise fitted so couldn't take advantage of the map switching which is one of the main selling points. Hence the attraction of Bluefin and the handset.

Did you go for the Bluefin in the end??

No, I'm probably going to get Rick @ Unicorn to have a go, as I now have the facility to squirt in the maps and the Bluefin figures seem a touch low compared to others.
Just getting christmas out the way first.

Just to throw another spanner in the works!

We have 25% off APR remapping till 8th Nov!!! Normally on a 2.0TFSi engine the price is £598.80 inc VAT but that is knocked down to £449.10 inc VAT

APR ECU Upgrade - B7 A4 2.0T 2005.5-2008 - A4 (B7) - Audi - Shop By Car

Can get this done most days!

Awesome Mike

Apologies for having an blonde moment here but can the APR tune be done diy or must you have to take it to yourselves for installation.
