TFSI Rattle

I know that the reply is "all these rattle" but what is it that rattles... My 06 2.0 TFSI is silent when its cold but god it sounds like a bag of nails once its warm! I guess the super thin oil doesn't help either. Is it cam followers and were they really this bad when new? If I had bought this new I would have been back at the dealers asking for my money back.
