auto gearbox oil change on 3.0 tdi quattro

Hi all,

My auto 3.0 tdi has done 108k miles now, and I can't find any record of it having a gearbox oil change.
Am I right in thinking this should be done every 40k miles or so?

I'm thinking of getting it done just to be on the safe side - any views/ideas on price?

i couldn't see any change schedule in the service book on mine

some dealers say its a sealed for life thing, but id do it anyway along with the filter. i done it on my old bmw cabrio what a difference it made

ok I think they are a sealed unit then, no oil changes needed. In fact, reading peoples experiences of when they have gone ahead and changed it seemed to cause problems after a short time. Probably due to incorrect fluid or under/over filling, maybe stirring up the metal fragments that are bedded to the magnets.
