So i have the switch/implausible signal issue with my roof (2007 cab) same as thousands of others have. The roof operation stops mid cycle leaving me to manually close the roof.
I think i have read everything there is to read on the web about this problem and have found a video that shows how to use VCDS to rectify:

This sorts my problem for me, which is great but after maybe 5 complete cycles or less, the problem always returns and i have to go through this procedure again. Not convenient with the summer just around the corner!
I dont really understand what it is that i am doing, just that it works for a bit. Can anyone offer advice as to why this is the case? Do i need to change a part somewhere to rectify this permanently? The roof seems to be fine when its working.
