clunking noise in area of front passenger dashboard....

Hello all, new to the site and new to owning an audi so please bear with me....

Bought a 2007 audi a4 avant tdi 170 s-line special edition the other day and have fallen in love with it, however when i start the vehicle a noise which sounds like a clunking happens for about 10 seconds before stopping. It seems to be coming from the glovebox area of the vehicle..
It also happens when using the windscreen wipers?...
Havent looked at any possible causes yet, just wondered if any of you with more experience with audi have heard of this problem before.
