Hi all new on here went to buy an Audi a4 2.0t Quattro 2005 today when lifted bonnet up looked were the belts were and there was a rattle the bloke said it the vv timing it's ok he said any info would be nice it's done 80000

The 2.0t is a rattly engine but there's a common problem with the timing chain tensioner. just done the job on mine a few weeks ago
It can be depends if everything goes o.k.
I had a hell of a job to take the camshaft adjuster bolt off, bolt very tight, prone to rounding and an **** to get at if it rounds.

Mines the same always has been, ive just recently posted a similar question as to wether its compulsary to change it.
