I think I've ordered LHD headlights from Dectane and they wont reply to any of my e-mails. I know I should of looked more into it but like a fool I just ordered them. As anyone had any dealings with Dectane, based in Germany direct and sent anything back? I've asked them could I send the parcel straight back to them unopened but they won't reply to any of my e-mails.

These are the lights I've ordered https://www.dectane.de/product_info...hts-audi-a4-b7-daytime-running-light-r87.html

Having just read the F&Q section, the lights that are RHD will say RHD in the item number and these don't :sadlike:

I know its my own fault etc but I don't want to be stuck with useless lights that cost over £300.

dont worry they will send you the right hand frive ones

How sure are you Bez? I've looked in there Terms & Conditions and it states that I can cancel my order within 14 days of placing the order. Im well within that 14 days however if I allow them to post the order then the conditions change and becomes more difficult. Did you buy direct from the same website? I trust what your saying, I just don't wanna be stuck with useless lights mate.

3 sets and never had to pick left or right
1st set i phoned emailed 1st
reply was as im in england and there shipping to england then they will ship the correct ones
other 2 sets i just ordered and they were right
drop them a few more emails just to make sure they send the right ones

When they arrive, how will I know if there RHD? This might be a stupid question but will they say RHD anywhere on the packaging or units?

Anyone used Dectane?

Whats the quality of there lights like?

Standard & aftermarket lights on the B6 have a lever next to bulb on the inside to switch between lhd to rhd - maybe these lights are the same?

So I finally got a reply from Dectane.

These lights do not fit a RHD car :crying: What makes it even more annoying is there on route to me as we speak. All I can do is hopefully send them straight back unopened and hope to get a full refund.

Does anyone know if these Dectane lights have this switch?

They said Im to get in touch when they arrive so it looks like I might be getting a refund. Shame though, I wanted the lights not a refund but never mind. Probably just go down the headlight lamin-x route now.

Its weird though cause BMTown sell the same lights made by Dectane but for RHD cars, either that or BMTown are selling LHD lights but not declaring it?

I was going to order some from dectane myself, but decided to give em a quick call in Germany just to make sure and they clearly state that the lights are for lhd cars only, I just hope for your sake they give you your money back!! Don't bother with emails just ring them, they do have English speaking agents!!
Good luck

I didnt see where it cleary stated LHD only? The only indication was in the Q&A section, right at the bottom. I've had a e-mail saying he will send me a address to post them back too etc.

But in my defence here id say why said them to the UK if they dont do RHD versions?

Just thought id update this post......

I have now got some DRL headlights fitted to my A4. They are from 2xcite and they look great. Unfortunately Im having problems with getting a refund from Dectane Germany.

As requested by Dectane, I sent then lights back the very day I received them. It cost me £60 to do so but I thought you live and learn etc.

They confirmed that they had received the lights and all was in order. They had also promised me earlier that I would receive a refund so I thought great, all's well that ends well.......

I was wrong! They said that they would charge me 15% for sending them back. I wasn't pleased but so be it. I then got an e-mail saying the out of the 352 euros they cost I would only recieve 240 euros refund. Thats £65 for sending them back unopened in perfect condition. So with the cost of mailing them back, thats £125 for sweet f**k all. Anyway, they said I would receive the refund via paypal within 7 days. Its now been 13 working days and nothing so I e-mailed them. They replied asking for my bank account details? I rang paypal to ask them if this was common practise? NO was the answer. Also paypal informed me that they have no right to take any money off me as I sent the goods back. So as it stands Im in a dispute with Dectane.

To be fair, PayPal will probably fight this for you if you've returned the goods.

If not, I'd suggest this contravenes the European wide distance selling laws? Google for them, I'm pretty sure they're not allowed to take such a chunk. It's a damn liberty!

And, we've all done stupid things like that mate, don't sweat it.
