My airbag warning light came on a few weeks ago, so I had it reset but a couple of weeks later it's come on again.

The fault code was apparently to do with one of the seat belt pretensioners. Searching some old threads I see that this can be caused by a loose connection in the cable that runs under the front seat, from each seat belt buckle.

Assuming I can find where the problem is and sort it out, can I clear the airbag light without getting it reset again? In one thread it said to disconnect the battery for a bit, but in another thread it said that won't work and must be cleared through VCDS?

thanks

It can be done easily by VCDS, I did it when I forgot to reconnect my driver airbag after retrofitting cruise. I haven't tried disconnecting the batter, its worth a go if you don't have access to VCDS.
