Can anyone help me with 'real world' average mpg of a 2.0 TFSi 2008 A4 cab and expected miles per tank when driving on the motorway?

My company will pay me 21p per mile and I need to understand if will break even of not when doing business miles.

I don't have the car yet, I'm exiting the company car scheme and taking the cash allowance, hoping to buy an A4 cab!

Thanks for that, 36 mpg isn't too bad.

Is the 350 miles to a tank mainly based on motorway driving or around town, also is that a full 70 litre tank worth?

That's a full tank. That was me driving to Essex from Leicester. Some running around and back so mainly motorway. Not going much above 75 tho sadly. I get about 280 to a tank around town an about 28 ish but again that's driving like miss daisy lol

I get approx 330-350 miles from a full tank at £85 for standard unleaded, think its approx 64 litres.
That is all town driving and only works out at 25mpg.

I think the 2.0 TFSi are loads better on a decent motorway run and can achieve 36-40mpg if not too lead footed.
I went to Newcastle once, approx 120 miles, and got 39mpg at a constant 75-80mph.

I am going to Cornwall early April and the distance one way is 330 miles. I am aiming for 40 mpg all the way!

Thanks for all the replies!

I'm going for an extended test drive on Saturday, hopefully i can get a good run on the motorway and see what i get.

To be honest, I would base all your figures on 28-30mpg. The TFSI engine isn't the most fuel efficient, especially when you factor in the quattro system!

I'm sure I read somewhere TFSI = 63l tank - TDI = 70l tank

Mac

Im pretty sure its 63 for the quattro and 70 for the fwd .... someone can confirm though

I've just checked a few dealer web sites and the 2.0 TFSi FWD all appear to be 70l tanks.

I've been tracking my fill ups for a few months now. I don't have a Cab and mine is FWD but it might be of use. For reference I use my car to commute which is: 9 miles A road, 5 miles motorway and 2 miles in traffic.
