Flat Bottom steering wheel question

Hi Folks,

I have trawled the search function and haven't been able to answer my question so here goes,

I'm trying to fit a Flat bottom steering wheel to my 2007 Special Edition A4 Avant my problem is the big yellow connectors are slightly different so my question is: can i just swap the wires over from one connector to another?. See pics below.

Connectors ( Original Wheel has the black wires and purple clip):

Any help would be greatly appreciated!.

I just trimmed the tabs off the side of the new plug when I fitted mine, you need to swap a few wires around to retain correct functionality though
