Just wrap the old one in black vinyl. Thats what i did and its almost a perfect match to the cars paintwork.

Did you have to remove the grille to do this? I'm looking at wrapping mine

You can take the filler plate off without removing the grill. It has 3 screws at the bottom of it, remove these and give it a bit of a pull and it should come off.
