    Buy a vcds cable, they are pricey, the software is upgradeable free of charge and they are a worthwhile investment. If interested in buying
    user Nigel (NHN) on here supplies.

    I bought a cheap one on eBay that just reads and clears codes that works. Obviously I wish I had the full VCDS but it cleared my airbag light. It only came on when I moved the seat all the way back to clean the car. The connection under the seat had opened slightly.

    If you just want to read and erase fault codes, then one of the best out there for the price is this one;

    Professional Fault Code Reader for Volkswagen, Audi, Seat, Skoda (1996-2009)

    We have one at work that we used before I got the VCDS.

    Hi lewie. This is the one I use U281 Can-bus Obd2 Code Scanner Vw Audi Seat Skoda Can [u281] - £23.24 : Auto Parts Lights
    It will scan and erase but that's about it. Handy though. I have a 140 2006 avant.
