Thread: Aircon help needed

Hi there. Ok here I go my a4 b7 avant has just started blowing constant cold air from the drivers side vents even though they are on high So I've been told that it is the flap motor on the drivers side but i cannot find it. Plz help as its getting cold out there now. Thanks.

there are flaps on both sides, remove glovebox and/or lower trim on the drivers side.
When you can see the flap motors operate the aircon and see which one is sticking.
A scan with VCDS and going though basic setting may well reset the motor

Hi i've removed the lower trim under the steering wheel but i can't seem to see the motor. can you point me in the right direction any pics or diagrams would be great.thanks again.

Thanks for that so are the three motors behind the glove box the ones that control the air flow to the drivers side aswel,as all three vents on the drivers side blow cold air

there are motors on both sides, check the operation of all of them...

Sorry for bugging pal but is it just me in the thread you posted for me they refer to the motor under the glove box and I'm to believe mine are on the other side. All the pics on this subject seem to focus on the glove box side.

the motors on the glovebox side seem to be the ones that fail.

Luck is not on my side this week just got the flap motor sorted then this afternoon on my way home the airbag light came on....... Have i knocked any wires under the steering wheel?.....what a month its been...thanks

check under seat connections and clear fault with VCDS

Thanks pal just ordered my vcds cable...was holding out but can't keep nipping to local garage.Is it true that even if i have fixed the faulty lead the light will stay on until the code is cleared..

The light will stay on until its cleared with VCDS even if you have fixed the fault.

My mechanic just fixed the airing light in mine as well. was a bad connection under the seat. He also reset the diagnostics stuff as well so the light would go out.
