saw a car and was impressed by it. clean and tidy, satnav, nice colour. but its done 120000 miles! i know this is high but would it still be reliable? full audi service history, recent timing belt change. are there any other things that i should be aware of if i go and take it for a test drive?

if it's a 2.0 FSI, Then make sure the timing chain that links the two cams togethor was changed when the belt was done this isn't part of any service plan but it will fail and cause the same damage as a broken timing-belt ! also you say recent timing-belt change check that it was the full kit incl;water-pump with that mileage...

thanks for the reply. should i be worried about the high mileage?

i dont know where you hear the cam chain will fail ?
its not a comon problem on the fsiT lump
120k aint to bad depending on price

belt at front
chain at back

The mileage itself needn't be a worry. It's more about the car's overall condition, and how well it has been maintained. Provided it has been well cared for and properly serviced (including all the non-regular items at their appropriate intervals), you should not allow high mileage to put you off. Condition and history are everything!
