HELP PLEASE FITTING DRL TO AUDI A4 B7 S LINE

Hi Guys

I'e done a search abd theres a lot on DRL but not much on fitting to a B7 A4. I am thinking of getting these headlights with built in DRL. Is it a question of just replacing the existing ones without any modification to the wiring?. Is the front bumper easy to remove? Also hoe do they work, i presume they wont come on automatically like the new cars, what poition do my switch need to be in for them to work?

Its quite involved to get the bumper off but at the same time very easy, especially if you have access to a ramp, like me ;)

I have them lights and they are plug and play. They come on when you switch your side lights on. No additional wiring required and didn't even need resistors as they don't throw up a 'bulb out' warning. However, I have mine wired up to come on with ignition which requires them to be seperate to the sidelight switch, and this you do need resistors for. They aren't everyones cup of tea but personally I like them after being a bit dubious at first.

The lights are good quality too. Go for it.
 
thanks gary...but i havent got a ramp ...will i still be able to do it ?
 
bumper is very easy to remove even on the ground no jacks needed

pretty easy to get the bumper off, i took it off with a friend a couple of weeks ago for the first time. hardest part was taking the brackets out behind the arch liner, apart from that it took less than an hour to take it off and put it back
 
hi, have DRL's on my a4 cabbie b7 look great, not quite as bright as o.e's but still look good. If you want them to come on with igntion, (as o.e's) you can spur off of headlamp height adjuster wire, which is ignition fed, but you will have to fit two diodes one on side light wire and one on feed off of headlamp adjuster cable, do it after the cars original plug connector then you can easily revert back. you will get bulb out warning light on when you turn on ignition, because it doesn't see the rear lights, but just flick headlight switch on then off and light go's out, so not to much of an inconvienance.

thats a daft way to do it
just come from an igg live and thats it no extras and no bulb outs
prob quicker that the way you did it
 
does anyone know if i'll be able to fit an HID kit as well with these headlights
 
Hi Ash1809,

Did you fit these to your car after all? I have fitted these to mine, but the electronic headlight motors do not work. Do I have to us VCDS to programme them to wok?

no i havent had time to get them and fit them yet...maybe the other guys can help
 
I'm installing these soon. Couple of questions.
Do they woek out of the box with the electric beam adjuster?
also did you have to do any Manual adjustment of the beam once they were installed?
 
I'm amazed people have had to remove the bumper, my headlights came out after removing 4 bolts, 10 minutes either side and I've got new headlights fitted.
