What is the difference between a regular and long life service ( is it the oil type ) ? My car has had long life services but now I want to start changing the oil / filters myself. I don't usually take much notice of service indicators and in the past have changed the oil every 8k ( on my last vw golf ) however nowadays I don't do many miles and have only done 4k since the last oil change ( 12 months ago ). I'm wondering if it could do with another oil change as 12 months has passed.
