Hi Guys,

I have spent alot of time on this forum recently and think its fantastic source of info. I am seriously looking at a used Audi A4 2.0T FSI SPORT Mutlitronic from a dealer but I thought I would get an AA vehicle inspection test conducted first before I buy. It looked ok on my inspection but I am not clued up on cars and have never owned an Audi...

I just got the report back from the AA and was told although the car seems in a relatively good condition there are some external leaks (upper engine) and engine underside leaks. Also fluid/oil leaks around the gearbox. These need urgent attention.

The dealer has told me he will fix anything before he sells me the car which is honourable of him and welcomed the inspection test. He came back to me today and said he had since taken the car to a specialist and he says the reason for the leaks are because it needs new Vacum pump oil seals.

Can someone tell me what these are exactly and is this a likely cause for the leaks (not very knowledgable when it comes to cars/Audi's) just incase he is pulling a fast one ? Also if that it is the source of the leaks is it something I should be very concerned about or is it just a normal thing that happens to these cars (it has 40k miles on the clock by the way) ? I guess what I am aksing as well is should I walk away now because this could lead to further problems or is it nothing to be too worried about?

Thanks
