Well after several weeks of diagnosis and lots of £'s spent my ECU needed to be tested. It's been done and the report said that it wasn't repairable (they could, but wouldn't garentee it). Turns out there has been a fair bit of burning by one of the processors.
Does anyone know where to get a second hand ECU from? It's for a 2005 A4 3.0 TDI Q (BKN engine). Audi part number 8EO 907 401 AJ (FILE CHANGE 8EO 910 401 K) BOSCH NUMBER 0281 012 245. Got quoted £440 + VAT for a new one via a local VW garage just for the part.
