Recycled Alloy........Coffee Table anyone?

I was recently unfortunate enough to bend the two drivers side alloys on my B7.......but have decided to recycle them as furniture!

Here's my new coffee table:

Cool where did you get the glass from? What materials did you need?

I have a brand new nice 17" merc wheel boxed which will go for a pittance on ebay i guess was going to do the same ages ago but never got around to it.
 
Just went to my local glass centre........£30 for 52cm x 6mm piece of toughened glass with a polished edge.

It's held in place with replacement 'Richbrook' tax disc holder 'stickies'.

The wheel itself is just mounted on top of a simple black/chrome coffee table.

The strip LED's were from ebay and were intended for lighting a fish tank!

Total cost (excluding replacing the wheel) £60.

I'm now working on a 'matching' computer chair with the other one, so watch this space!
 
Mate that is the sh*t, i want one, wish one of my alloys was bent........wait a minute, thats not right!!

Not sure my mrs would be too pleased about alloys as furniture, its bad enough with the car ha ha.

Good effort mate!

You can never have too stable a chair eh.

Looks nice. I've got a Formula 1 wheel I've been wanting to do this with for ages, but I haven't got my **** round to getting the glass.
