Went out yesterday looking for snow in my A4 2005 2.0t quattro. Some roads were very wet, some very slushy and at times a good 8" deep in snow.
Was having great fun until the car started making horrible noises - coming from beneath the car.
It sounds like the sizzling water along with some very loud ' between radio station' noises. It was quite concerning! Even driving home along a main road - it continued to make the noises - but gradually faded as I neared home.
The noise was present whether freewheeling or accelarating, even at 10mph it was there.
When I stopped the car, the noise went - even when I reved the engine..
Today I've been out and there is a noise of chunning snow when I travel above 35mph. It's quite a loud noise and comes from beneath the car on the passenger side.
I'm thinking either the quattro drive system or the long-life stainless steel exhaust system I have?
Any ideas what this problem is?
Thanks,
Tim.
