BLB engine help

Hi everyone was told about this site by a friend.

I have the 2.0TDi BLB engine which is very broken at the moment.

I think it would be easier to do a full engine replacement on it but i wanted to know if a BRE would drop straight in without any adjustments.

It's so hard to find another BLB engine loads of 1.9TDi's about and the BRE but the BLB's are a nightmare to find.

Not sure if anyone has actually done it, it should be possible.

I have read on another forum (piston heads that the BLB and the BRE are the same engine except for the oil pump.The BRE having the gear driven pump.

should be possible to drop the bre engine in.
can you find a bre and have it fitted for less than the spur gear conversion doing on your blb is the question?
