07 B7 A4 with RNS-E - Removal of centre console

Hi all,

I've had a good search of the forums for advice on this one but alas cant seem to find it. Has anyone taken out the radio/ console?

I'm stuck with the ashtray insert. Ive removed the emptying part of the ashtray however I cannot get the ashtray holder out of the console. My plan was to install a ipod dock in the armrest to replace the car prep kit.

you need to pull the gearstick surround up its only clipped in
and then you will see to bolts they hold the ashtray down

Hi Bez101,
I managed to get that far. I've freed up the ashtray however it doesnt want to leave the console. Must be quite happy there!

Is that a RS in your profile pic?

no its a 2.0 fsiT stage 3
well u removed both bolts ?
your gona have to tug it pull it towards the back of car and lift at same time
its the only way to get it out

hey lee. You said your cars stage 3? is that remap stage 3? wots the bhp and torque and how much it cost ya?
