S4 Issues / Power Steering / Engine Stutter

Hi all, Newbie on here, just bought an 04 S4 Avant private sale. The car has developed a couple of problems Already.

Power steering seems to now only be partially assiting fine at speed but heavy for parking. The engine had a monor occasional miss, but has got worse was quite a stutter on way home tonight? Anyone any thoughts?

Harsh welcome to S4 ownership. Booked in for service with Mackenzies in Lichfield on Friday, hopefully won't be too painful?

Is the pump really noisy at low speed or stationary?

No not at all. Everything is perfectly quiet. I questioned the previous owner who said it happened when he 1st had the car but had the fluid changed and had not occurred since. It's booked in for a service tomorrow.
