I've seen a set of alloys that I want there 19" with a width of 8.5j and an offset of 45 will these fit my s line a4 avant ok?

They will fit fozworth, but it will also depend on the tyre fitment you choose. I would go for 235/35/19's. These should be OK. I have 8.5j wide wheels fith ET45 offset fitted with 245/35/19's and had to fit a 4mm spacer on the front as I found the tyre was to close to the suspension arm for my liking.
As stepho says may be a touch close on the inner edge. Either fit good quality spacers or get a lower offset wheel.
