I've been planning a couple of larger intercoolers for my diesel along with some other modifications
I have seen that the VAG.COM can change timing and injected diesel quantity - will this basically let me map the car myself?
Seems pretty interesting!

Ahh right - but according to that link I can change:
Setting Injection Timing:
Channel 3: EGR
Channel 1: injected quantity
I was thinking this would give me enough control to liberate a few more horses after raising the boost a few pounds.

What you can do is alter constant parameters - plus or minus.
Mapping is dynamic.
